Our Custom Design Process

When it comes to creating a special piece of personalised jewellery for you, we follow a seven-step procedure to ensure a smooth and quality-controlled process.

Here are the seven most crucial measures we take:

Consultation

It all starts with getting to know you - your story, your style and your heart. Our designers sit down with you in a consultation and start capturing details of your story. They inform you with practical information about colours, stones, styles and durability. They listen to who you are, your lifestyle and what you are hoping to see designed for you.

Conceptualisation

After the time with you, they take the details they have captured, your hopes and desires. They take their knowledge. And they begin to dream, create, and design something unique and beautiful for you. The ideas are either hand sketched or conceptualised.

Quotation

Following this is quotes. Quoting is the process of taking your dreams, as well as the designer's creation and giving you a concrete cost frame to realise your jewellery design with us.

Production

Finally, the production begins. This is the exciting process of bringing your jewellery dreams to life. Within production lies its own process such as 3D designing, which helps you to visualise what the end product will look like. This is followed by the wax printing and casting of your designed piece. Final touches of polishing (this when that bling-bling shine enters the chat) and stone setting are also found in the production step.

Quality Control

This production process ends with quality control. Inspecting your designed piece and ensuring that overall, the piece matches expectations. Valuations also take place at this step. Valuation in this design process can almost be seen as the jewellery piece’s birth certificate. Recording all its important details for future reference and your safe keeping.

Photoshoot

Once checked to see its perfection, it gets celebrated with a Photoshoot. Champagne gets popped and a special photoshoot and videos get recorded with the special design at the center.

Packaged for delivery!

And just like that 4 – 6 weeks have passed. Your custom order has been carefully packaged and out for delivery, making its way safely to you. From our side, we end off with Story Capturing. Taking your story and its respective designed piece and putting it to words. For every great design begins with an even better story.

Timeline

Good things take time. When planning to get engaged, a custom designed ring takes time. Make sure to plan ahead so that the ring doesn’t have to be made in a rush. In general, 2 months for making a custom designed ring is enough time. At Miinella, our custom order timeline is between 4 - 6 weeks.
